Things I have learned in 2009:

  • If you attempt to de-wrinkle your clothes while wearing them, you will likely end up with a hilarious belly scar.
  • New York City distance can be measured in music. For example: My office to Union Square = 1 Always be my Baby + .5 Suspicious Minds
  • There is only one real cure for the flu.
  • Books and Burritos would be the name of the my ideal lifestyle/restaurant.

If it weren’t snowing on the first day of Spring, a walking tour of NYC independent bookstores would be quite a fun adventure.

“At home, I mainly used to read. I wished to stifle with external sensations all that was ceaselessly boiling up inside me. And among external sensations the only one possible for me was reading. Reading was, of course, a great help. It stirred, delighted, and tormented me.” —Fyodor Dostoevsky

Does this make sense?

Sometimes I don’t want to read a true story, just fiction that is exactly like my everyday life.

Bishop Allen - The Ancient Commonsense of Things

There are those that know to look
to all the crannies and the nooks
and when I found you dear
what it meant to me

book to shelf
foot to shoe
and likewise I belong to you
my heart is pounding loud
just like a timpani

Bishop Allen’s new super cute album is out today!

edit: I’ve been told it’s actually “delightfully quirky”.
