#15: The World to Come by Dara Horn
This book was an unexpected joy. It tells a multi-generational tale of a Jewish family who are bound to one another through art and story. Horn writes beautifully, especially when she weaves into the book Yiddish folklore that is passed down through the decades. I do not know much about Jewish culture, but the way she wrote it made me see that the history and beauty behind these beliefs are valuable beyond measure. Fiction is blended with truth in this novel, and it shows the reader that they can sometimes be one in the same.
