#48: Freakonomics by Steven D. Levitt & Stephen J. Dubner
This one goes out to my good friend, Amanda. She’d been talking about this book for a while so I figured I’d give it a go. Sure enough, it was a fun way to learn about all kinds of things that impact our everyday lives. The book makes many difficult concepts easy to understand, helping the reader figure out such topics as why drug dealers live with their moms and why schoolteachers may have something in common with sumo wrestlers. Reading this kind of book makes me wish I had been taught this kind of material, in this form, when I was in school. As opposed to textbooks, I was able to retain much more information on a broad scale than I did when I was reading something from a massive “scholarly” hardcover.
P.S. Aren’t those pumpkin candy corns just the best?!
